Researchers had found a benefits of a mushrooms that can destroy tumors by 75 percent. Maitake mushrooms which is usually used for cooking mixture.

This 8 inch diameter mushroom are known potent to fight against prostate cancer which kills about 15,000 people in the UK each year.

Dr. Konno try to combine Sensuke mushroom extracts with anti-cancer protein called interferon alpha. The result, three-quarters of The patients cancer cells was destroyed.

Researchers from New York Medical Center says, proteins and anti-cancer active substance in the mushrooms will activate the enzyme that controls the growth of cancer cells.

Dr Allison Rose from the Cancer Research Center also said that one day this fungus could be a promised anti-cancer chemotherapy drugs.

Chemicals found in cannabis leaves can be used to stop prostate cancer cells. The researchers hope that cannabis leaves can be used as a remedy for the treatment of prostate cancer.

After focusing on the network on human cancer cells,Ines Diaz-Laviada and colleagues from the University of Alcala in Madrid, also investigated the effects of the chemicals on canabis leaves on mice and the fact that the substance is capable to reduce the cancer growth significantly.

The study is published in the British Journal of Cancer. Now in the world of research, there have been many studies that examine the medical uses of cannabinoids, the chemical substance found in cannabis.

This experts focused on the research done over the years devoted to seeking the best care in dealing with cancer in humans.

“This is an interesting study that opens the way to develop a potential drug. But this is only new in the early stages, “said Lesley Walker, Director of Cancer Information, Cancer Research UK, England.

She also explained that this does not mean that the men who use cannabis can automatically avoid prostate cancer.

The cannabinoids substances are investigated by the Spanish team which is requested to conduct the research in the fight against prostate cancer. This substance can block the receptors, the entrance of molecules, which is on the tumor cell surface. It is able to stop tumor cells to break away and growing.

“These chemicals can stop the division and the development of prostate cancer cells.”

Vaccine for prostate cancer was proved safe and effective to use after passing several tests.

Based on research, this vaccine could give hope to people that suffering from metastatic prostate cancer because it can activate the immune system to that could fight the disease. This vaccine was developed in order to activate the immune system to produce anti-antigens and attack cancer cells that could sustain a longer life for the patients.

“The main objectivity of this study was to determine whether the vaccine is safe or will even worsen prostate cancer. It is a very safe vaccine,” said research team leader who is also Director of Urology at the University of Iowa David Lubaroff.

He also said that investigators still observe if the vaccine could result in immune system response to prostate specific antigen (PSA).”We found that 68-70% of patients tested with the vaccine showed a PSA response. We are very pleased that we can detect immune system response in these patients.”

The early stage  of the results from this vaccine trials will be presented at the annual meeting of American Urological Association in Florida, USA.

In this study, approximately 32 people who develop metastatic prostate cancer given PSA vaccine. All of them are given varies doses of vaccine  and has been observed for 12 months.

A total of 57% of them survive longer. In fact 48% of them can survive two times longer than previous predictions. From the results of this vaccine trial, the longest patients can survive are up to six years.

From these three results, David Lubaroff study team will begin the second phase of the  research in the near future.
Meanwhile, Professor and Expert Urology Vanderbilt University Bruce Roth still not sure if the vaccine would be a vaccine that can be used continuously. “I think what can be proved from this study is the safety of the vaccine. But it is very different when we talk about the efficiency of this vaccine,” he said.

However, Bruce Roth thought that the early stages of the test results of this PSA vaccine is a good sign.

“I think this discovery is a breakthrough after waiting for about 35 years. This theory is very good compared to the last few decades because of various therapeutic vaccines that sounds great does not match the results we expected,” he added
